Selina and Trixie are sisters. We call them the twins, although Trix is somewhat bigger than Selina.
In the early summer of 2012, Mino was approached by a man that owns an olive grove not far from where we live. Someone had dumped these little pups in an old derelict building within his olive grove, an old masseria, a farmhouse. They would hide behind this massive chimney. They were literally smothered in fleas. The smallest one, Selina, would try and bite our ankles, they were actually terrified of us.
All that summer we would take them food and water every day.I loved going to see the pups, but remember vividly being dive-bombed by cicadas, there were literally thousands of them. I remember too, dragging my friend Liz along with me most days. We would come off the beach, have a nice cool vodka and tonic in the beach bar, then go and see the pups.😜 The time came when one of the girls came into season. In November of that year, we had them spayed, they came back here to recuperate after their ops, and of course, they stayed. That of course was eight years ago. They are little darlings. They went from rags to riches, both love sleeping on my bed, better than an old cold draughty derelict building !!
Selina is my shadow and follows me everywhere. Trixie sometimes follows me but prefers to stay on my bed. Lovely little girls 🐾🐾
