Puppy Bill was dog number 9. He couldn’t really be called rescued as he never knew any hardship. He was one of Bessie’s puppies. Bessie gave birth to six pups by the side of our bed on Mino’s birthday. She had three black and three white and brown on 22nd June 2004.
I didn’t want to keep any of these pups, but the lady that was going to have Puppy Bill changed her mind. I was busy trying to find a home for him but unbeknown to me, Mino and my granddaughter Emily had conspired to keep him. They eventually won me round, he was a lovely little boy. Such a great nature. I learned to love him very quickly and very much.
He was truly special, he ran like his father Bobby, he loved the beach, loved the sea, and loved Emily. When Emily and Harry were small, they spent their 6 weeks summer holidays with us, firstly in Portugal, then in Italy. Puppy Bill never forgot her, even when she only came to stay for a week as she grew up, he would not leave her side. They adored one another 😍
He was such an obedient dog, when we took him to the beach, he ran like the wind.
Our boy suffered a stroke in 2017, he never fully recovered from it, and sadly we lost him on 21st August 2018 aged 14. We will never ever forget you, precious boy.💔You were one in a million.
And so the story continues,we left Portugal in February 2005, for our incredible journey to Italy. With 8 dogs and 2 cats. !!
