Back in early April 2007, we met Piccina, she used to follow one of the local men, she was always very friendly when she saw us, mostly with Mino, but was always very hungry. She was skin and bones, this chap she followed could barely afford to feed himself, let alone all the dogs that used to follow him. We also saw her in season twice, being followed by all the dogs in the area. She is such a tiny little thing we felt sorry for her, so we had her spayed, and after her op, brought her home to recover. Of course, she did not want to go back, so she stayed. That was almost14 years ago, she has such a lovely life with us.
We never lose Piccina, if we need to know where she is, we just look on my bed, or as Mino calls it, her office…. such a happy little girl. She was not a pup when we took her, she was a young dog, maybe 18 months old, so she is at least 15 1/2 years old, but still very active and agile. Long may it last.
