Shortly after Skinny, Nipper arrived! This little guy was abandoned near us, he had spent the nights alone and scared, the days wandering around, scavenging around the bins. He was small, a lot like Squirt, from a distance, when we saw him, we thought Squirt had got out! He was a very sweet little boy and did not mind the cats at all. We called him “Nipper“… Which doesn’t mean he would bite, it’s a good old Hampshire word for boy!
He settled in very quickly and became one of the pack. Such a dear little boy. He had no hesitation about coming through our gates and becoming one of them. We had Nipper neutered, and he slowly started to put weight on, he then became too fat, and was put on a diet. He got on well with all our other dogs, and enjoyed all of his home comforts. He was not a young dog when he arrived here.
Nipper had quite a few things wrong with him over the years that we had him, from a collapsed trachea to a tumour on his willy. But he never complained. Such a faithful little boy.
He took on a particular attachment to Mino, and just idolised him, so so faithful was that little boy to Mino, he was like his shadow.
Nipper became gravely ill, he had scans, X-rays and all sorts of medications. They never really got to the bottom of what was wrong with him, the vet thought he would recover, I didn’t! He passed in his sleep on 4th August the year before last, 2019. Little Nipper, was one of those dogs who caused us no trouble what so ever.
Loved and missed by all. Our dear little nip nip sausage 😢💔 You had almost six years of being loved and cared for. We miss you, little old man. 🐾🐾
