In 2008 Nana was brought to us by a relative of Mino’s. He was a huge young dog, and had been stoned and kicked in a neighbouring village! People were afraid of him, due to his size. He was so scared, as big as he was. Ignorant people, he was a gentle giant.
We were only supposed to be looking after him for a couple of weeks until they found him a home, needless to say, that home was never found and he stayed with us. He was huge, he ate more in one day than the smaller ones ate in a week!
Nana was always very gentle with the small dogs and the cats, but he would have the occasional spat with one of the bigger ones. He liked to join in if Paddy and Lupo had a set too.
We had Nana 10 years. On Christmas Eve 2018 Nana suffered a twisted gut. He was taken to an Emergency vet, and was operated on, and sent home. We did everything in our power to save him, but it was not to be, he did not recover, due to the incompetence of the emergency vet!
The last few days due to a stroke, Nana was completely off his feet, Mino and I had to lift and carry him, oh boy was he heavy. We lost him on 3rd January 2019 So sorry Nana, we tried boy💔
