Just when we thought it was all over! Yes, you guessed it, after a few days we saved another abandoned mother and her six puppies! To say we were angry was an understatement, these people that abandon animals here do not deserve to live happy lives, they deserve to have every bad thing that can happen to them, happen. 😡
We were working in the garden when a neighbour turned up at our gate. He was holding two puppies. He told us he had seen the mother going around, clearly looking for food. Just across from our house in a field, we found the mother and four more pups. They had been put there in a cardboard box. During the night our dogs had barked, which is very unusual. Mino went out with a torch but saw nothing, that was probably when the dogs were being dumped! How can these pieces of scum sleep at night? These pups were between 6 to 8 weeks old, how can anyone keep them that long and then dump them. Shame on them, they are worthless individuals, cold, and calculating! And they know exactly where to leave them, near people like us that cannot turn our backs on them. Why can’t we ever catch them? Do people think our money grows on trees, or do they think we are wealthy!! Well, it’s a big no to both of those questions. We get no help whatsoever from the authorities here!
We brought mother and babies back here,4 girls and 2 boys. They were absolutely starving. What else could we do? Any animal lover could not turn their back on the plight of these animals. A few days on and they were all as happy as can be. Mia was a very good mother. The pups were delightful. But oh boy, now the hard work was starting all over again, and believe me it was hard work. But they were not quite as mischievous and disruptive as Lala’s pups had been.😟😟
Now we would have to try to find them homes.
Again thanks to Facebook and my continued postings and pleadings, we did it. All the pups got rehomed in the UK. We got them all microchipped and got their passports organised, and Mino made another journey across with all the pups and Lupo to keep him company on the way back. Another ghastly journey, another one was travel-sick, I can’t remember which one it was now. Traumatic, but worth it. 🐾🐾
Thank you to each and every one of you that gave these pups a most deserved chance, we are very grateful.
Three weeks before Mino was due to leave with the pups, a lady on holiday here had found a pup and desperately wanted to take it home to London. She contacted me and brought the pup over. It was in the nick of time, we managed to get Jenny’s paperwork done, just! So she stayed with us until it was time to make the journey, with Mino and all the others. Jenny was such a little beauty, no wonder Janice wanted to take her home. 🐾🐾
