In August 2010 Mino found Lupo by the roadside, he was thin, dirty, and full of fleas and ticks, he didn’t look as if he had eaten in a long time. So he brought him home. He was around 18 months old. Lupo had been fending for himself for some time, judging by the state he was in! A few weeks after we had him, when he was clean and had put a lot of weight on, we rehomed him.
Mino went back to see Lupo a couple of weeks later and found him tethered to a chain, where he had been since he had left him, he immediately released him, opened the car door and Lupo jumped straight in. The ghastly man who had kept him said, “OK that’s fine, he wasn’t vicious enough for me anyway”!!!! Lupo, you had a lucky escape.
And no he isn’t vicious, he’s a gentle soul who loves nothing more than being made a fuss of by people. Everyone who visits us loves Lupo, he is a fabulous dog.
Back in August 2020, our beautiful Lupo began to have something wrong with his back legs … When he walked his back legs don’t coordinate. The vet came out to see him, he was going to take some blood for analysis, but Lupo would not let him. Our gentle boy turned into a scary demon. The vet thinks it could be dysplasia or his vertebrae. He hasn’t gotten any worse, he is on medication. We are taking each day as it comes at the moment and enjoying however much time we have left with him. Both Lupo and us will know when the time is right. 😪🐾
