Meet Felix, we called him Felix because that is who he looks like. I’m happy to start this post by saying that Felix is still very much with us, no rainbow heart on his photo!
Late in 2008, Mino found him by the side of the road, a tiny kitten, as good as dead. He picked him up and put him on the front seat of the car, where the kitten never moved. When I saw him I thought he was dead! We thought he was blind, he was walking in his food and missing his litter tray. We took him back to the vet, who said his sight was not good, but he was not blind. His name was added to our medication round as he had to take two tablets a day but he made a good recovery, as we slowly nursed him back to health. Once he was fit and healthy and old enough, we had Felix neutered as we try to do with all our animals.
Felix was taken under the wing of Nerina, a little old pinscher that we had. She treated Felix and Sbirolino as her own, and let them suckle her, she truly treated them as her own. They thought she was their mum. They slept with her until they were quite a few months old. It was a delight to see…
Felix gradually got used to the dogs and walks about amongst them. He has become the most lively cat we have ever owned. Felix adores Mino and whenever they are both in the house Felix is never far away from Mino. Usually sitting on his chest – Felix on Mino’s neck that is. Felix’s eyesight is fine now although he looks a little cross-eyed, he can see perfectly. He also is a lovely natured cat.
