Ah, beautiful Ellen 💕
In May 2010 when we had our friends Mandy and Ali staying with us, we came upon a pair of Dalmatians. They were living by a communal rubbish bin, sleeping on an old mattress. One had recently had pups. We found Ellen and her sister/mother not far from where we live. Mino would go and feed them daily, and as the summer drew on he would go three times a day with water. We continued with our daily visits, always looking for the pups, but we never found them. The dogs were always so pleased to see us.
We called them Alice and Ellen, as they looked like twins, and Alice and Ellen were famous twins, a variety act here during the ’60s and ’70s. One day when we went Ellen was on her own, no sign of Alice. We looked all over the place for her, I can only hope someone took her, if she had died on the road, we never found her body. Ellen started doing something quite out of character for her, she started running after our car. So we ended up bringing her home.
Ellen was a gorgeous dog, she was a smiler. 😁 She went on to be adopted by my daughter and son in law, who live in Cornwall. She was so happy to be an only dog. They lived near the beach and she had a wonderful life.
Sadly she was hit by a car in November 2017. She was so happy with them, adored by all. Pip and Simon were devasted by their loss of Ellen. She was a massive part of their family. Thank you both for loving Ellen and giving her the best life possible. 💔💔
