Carina lived two roads from us. Such a dear little thing. Her owner was a really nasty old man, who kept her on a chain, it was so heavy, it weighed her head down. He kept her on that chain 24 hours a day. She had a tiny little kennel to sleep in. We used to stop and speak to her, we wanted to get her off that chain.
Mino had many “words” with the old man, but he wouldn’t relent. We called the authorities, who came round and told him to let her off the chain. Needless to say, he took no notice, she remained on the chain. We even offered him money for her, to free her from her miserable life, no was his answer! We would have stolen her if we could have got through the huge iron gates 😞 Carina went on to have pups, how she nursed them in that tiny little kennel I don’t know.
His son came to Mino for help, saying his father was not fit to keep animals. Which was very true, he wasn’t. The puppies went to the kennel. The old man told his son, do whatever you want with her, give her away to whoever you want, apart from him round the corner! That of course was Mino…. I am pleased to say, the son took no notice of his father and brought her here to us. We had her spayed. No more pups for her!
That was in May 2016, she was 5 years old. So she is almost 10 years old now. Carina is a treasure, she reminds me so much of my gorgeous Lady. Why do people keep dogs if they are just going to spend their lives on a chain? So cruel. The old man has since passed away, sorry but I can’t say I shed any tears, he really was a nasty mean old man 🤭 Carina lives the life she was meant to, being spoilt and loved ☺️🐾🐾
